The DEI Committee

The EUF Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee was formed to ensure that all players and teams in the European Ultimate community feel included, respected, and supported. Our goal is to integrate DEI principles into every part of our sport—from team interactions to event planning. We’re here to provide clear frameworks, policies, and workshops that help teams and organisers create welcoming and inclusive environments.

If you have thoughts or concerns about anything related to diversity, equity, and inclusion in European Ultimate – whether it’s about tournament policies, gender divisions, or anything else – we would like to hear from you. You can get in touch with us at dei@ultimatefederation.eu.

What we’ve already had an impact on/are currently discussing

  • Gender Inclusion Policy: We are finalising a policy to ensure that athletes of any gender identity feel welcome and can participate in the division where they feel most comfortable. We’re taking the time to get this right by engaging with the community and gathering input.

  • DEI Workshops: We are planning workshops focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion for teams and at EUF events.

  • Safeguarding Issues: We’ve advised clubs or teams dealing with safeguarding issues, so that all players can participate in a safe and respectful environment.

  • Diversity Showcase Games: We’ve organised diversity showcase games to highlight and celebrate the talent we have across Europe amongst minority ethnic groups.

  • European Ultimate Gender Equity Manual: We are currently updating this resource to keep it relevant and useful for the community.

This has been a busy season, we’ll be starting more projects in the new year. We’re also looking for new members to join our committee in 2024 to help support our work and bring fresh perspectives.
