Call for bids: EUC 2027

Bids can be presented by national federations or affiliates with the support/approval of a national federation member of EUF.

Introduction

This Call for bids for the European Ultimate Championships (EUC) in the Mixed, Open, Women's divisions.

The EUC is the European Championships for national teams, played every four years. The last iteration was hosted in Limerick, IRL.

EUF seeks experienced tournament organisers who can showcase our sport at its best, not only for the participants but also for paying spectators.

With the EUC 2027, EUF wants to boost the development and visibility of Ultimate in the region through dedicated marketing and promotion activities. These include but are not limited to Sports Diplomacy Activities to extend the network and the standing of the National Federation within the national sports ministry and Olympic committee.

Furthermore, the tournament venue must have an extended capacity for showcasing the sport. This includes spectators, media coverage and much more. We want to start this project now to create one of the biggest European events in recent history.

Number of Players:

In the previous events, the average number of players was around 22.

For the maximum number of expected teams, 12-16 WFDF-regular fields are required. If fewer teams register, the number of needed fields should be reduced to cover the fixed costs.

A WFDF-regular field measures 100m x 37m + 3m + 5m restraint lines around it. WFDF-conform field size (95m x 35m + 3m restrain lines) is tolerated but should not be the standard. Please provide the length of the single fields in your bid.

Please provide a plan in case of rain (e.g. additional fields available, turf fields, etc.)

Football goals must be removed or protected for the players' safety. Having all pitches on 1 site is an asset.

Accommodation:

It is expected that most teams will take care of the accommodation themselves.

Budget:

We want to make clear that people who work hard on these events should receive some reasonable payment, nevertheless, management costs should be kept to the minimum.

The EUF committee wants to ensure that all costs are clearly visible, that costs are reasonable, and that we help ensure players don’t pay for things they might prefer not to have if given a choice.
